Harker, McIntyre, Shannon, Thomas, and Williams named finalists for 

2019 United Way Community Impact Award

 

Today, the United Way of Pickaway County would like to announce the five finalists for the 2019 United Way Community Impact Award: Alice Harker, Officer David McIntyre, Jan Shannon, Deputy Dale Thomas, and David Williams. These five individuals were nominated and selected as the result of a community-wide search launched this past June for the inaugural United Way distinction.  

 

“On behalf of the United Way I would like to thank our community for helping us identify these very deserving finalists,” said volunteer executive director Jama Cobb. “All five candidates exemplify our ‘Live United mission’ and proudly serve our Pickaway County community with only the goal of improving the lives of others in mind. In meeting with these finalists in recent weeks, their passion and selfless acts of kindness touched me and our board to our core. We would like to congratulate all of these amazing human beings for all they have done and continue to do to make our community a better place.”

 

The 2019 Community Impact Award winner will carry the scholarship naming rights, in conjunction with the United Way, over the course of the 2019-2020 school year.  The recipient will have the honor of presenting six, $500.00 scholarships to each of the county schools (public and private) in May 2020. All 5 finalists will be recognized, and the recipient announced, at the United Way of Pickaway County's 2019 "United We Serve Gala" on Saturday, November 2nd,  from 6-9 p.m. (5:00 p.m. social hour) at the Pavilion at Orchard View of Stoutsville. 

 

The United Way of Pickaway County is proud to name Alice Harker, Officer David McIntyre, Jan Shannon, Deputy Dale Thomas, and David Williams 2019 Community Impact Award Finalists this fall. The five candidates will be recognized at the 2019 United We Serve Gala at the Pavilion at Orchard View of Stoutsville where they will be honored for their commitment to community outreach. Additionally, one winner will also be named that night as the result of a community vote on our website at pickuw.org.
