United Way of Pickaway County awards Pickaway County Family YMCA $6,657.75 funding award
The United Way of Pickaway County Board of Trustee has awarded the Pickaway County Family YMCA a funding award in the amount of $6,657.75.
Specifically, the awarded funding will go to support the program partner’s Summer Fun Club, Y Club: Before and After School Care program, and the YMCA preschool program that align with the United Way’s locally sourced impact area of education.
The YMCA’s Summer Fun Club addresses the challenge of securing affordable, all-day, summer childcare for working families, while their preschool program provides accredited, full-day educational programming to children ages 3-5, five days a week.
The YMCA’s Y Club initiative provides childcare to working families, especially single-parent households, enabling parents to maintain employment while their children are cared for in a professionally operated, safe and affordable program that runs before and after school. Operating in three of the four public school districts in Pickaway County (Circleville City, Westfall Local and Teays Valley Local), the program reached 141 enrollments during the 2017-18 school year.
